SEATTLE, Nov. 20, 1996 -- Boeing Commercial Airplane Group today confirmed an order from Air France for 10 Boeing 777 jetliners.

Boeing will deliver Air France's first 777 in 1998. The big twinjets will seat 288 passengers in Air France's three-class configuration.

Air France has chosen the 777-200 Increased Gross Weight (IGW) model, which is designed for longer routes than the initial 777-200. The airplanes will be powered by General Electric GE90 engines.
