WICHITA, Kan., April 03, 2000 -- Major sections of the first Next-Generation 737-900 were joined in Boeing Wichita's integration tool last week where sections of the airframe are joined. Designed and built in Wichita, the single-piece fuselage will be shipped by rail later this month to the company's Renton factory for final assembly and delivery. Measuring 138 feet and 2 inches long, the airplane is the longest Next-Generation 737 offered. In mixed-class configuration it can seat 177 passengers and fly distances of up to 3,140 miles.
