U.S. AIR FORCE GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM SATELLITE
A McDonnell Douglas-built Delta II rocket is scheduled to launch the first of a new generation of satellites for the U.S. Air Force Global Positioning System on Thursday, Jan. 16 from Cape Canaveral Air Station, Fla. The launch window opens at 11:32 a.m. and closes at 12:02 p.m. EST. There will be satellite coverage of the launch from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. EST, on GALAXY 3, Transponder 15.
GALAXY 3 coordinates: 95 degrees
west longitude; uplink frequency, 6225 Mhs; downlink frequency,
4000 Mhs; polarity horizontal.
